10th may 2011 update

Pine marten record shots above and below

Red squirrel above and below

Red squirrels continue to show well although the weather was quite foggy we managed to get quite a good few shots.Cuckoos continue to be seen and heard in a few locations but as usual remain camera shy.we also had long eared owl, grasshopper warbler, jays and buzzards.

Pine martens are now coming frequently to a feeding station and we hope to be able to offer hide photography at this site soon. so far they are proving to be rather camera shy.check out our website at www.cooleywildlifephotography.com

2nd May 2011

The unusual good weather continues, but we could do with a spot of rain to top up the ditches and ponds which are becoming dry, very early this year.Whilst most things seemed early this year the cuckoo arrived back to the mountains bang on cue(last week of april) and is very vocal ,but remains elusive. We were able to stalk it to within a couple of trees, but unable to get good views meant breaking cover spooked it.Red squirrels are showing well (good luck with the editing Kenny) with the usual buzzards, jays, ravens, red fox, wheatears, grasshopper warblers,a single long eared owl and many of the common species.
